Peter & Sharon Galluzzo's Home Video Studio Story.

Peter and Sharon Galluzzo in their original HVS Studio.

Peter and Sharon Galluzzo made millions with their Home Video Studio. Peter found HVS online and watched us for years before he finally picked up the phone and called Robert.

Peter wanted to be his own boss. It was his idea to start a business and they both wanted to do something that both would enjoy.

They posted this picture today so I thought I would blog about them.

"When we found Home Video Studio, we knew it was a great business but the decision was difficult because it was still a risk. It took a lot of prayers, sweat, tears and evaluation before we decided to go for it. The final decision was really more of a spiritual one. When we determined that this was what we were “supposed” to do, it became easier. We did all we could to get ready and be prepared and then we just had to take the proverbial leap of faith."

Peter and Sharon traveled to a Show 'N Tell on Long Island in early 2008.  Show 'N Tell Saturdays are the weekend events/seminars that Home Video Studio puts on to help individuals and couples who are interested in starting a Home Video Studio get more information and have a better understanding of the business.

Grand Opening in their home - 2008.
Peter and Sharon purchased  their studio that day and then weeks later attended Basic Training in Indianapolis. They were both very excited.

Sharon and Peter started part-time. Sharon was a Stay-at-Home Mom and Peter was in IT. They worked from their home for the first five years and then moved into an HVS Studio Store in Apex, North Carolina. It was a bit slow at first but that was just fine since they were part-time.

“I’ve learned so much from so many people. When we started, I made it a point to learn from everyone we could. Listening to what others found successful (and unsuccessful) gave us a reference point from which we could plot a path. There was a lot of support from HVS as well as the other owners. We made a lot of friends! We had a great rivalry with other owners, all in good fun, of course, but it really helped keep           us motivated, focused and pressing on toward goals.”

From their opening in June of 2008 they were “quick out of the gate” and their story, in tandem with their successes, has been frequently documented in the annals of Home Video Studio and this blog.  Peter, with a computer and IT background, became interested in video as an AV volunteer at his church. Sharon, his wife, came from a background in public relations and fundraising. Yearning to leave corporate America they decided to risk what they had to get what they wanted. They became Home Video Studio owners. With daily diligence and strategy this powerful team began to build a business that has been on a success track ever since.

Peter and Sharon were honored with the coveted Studio of the Year Award in 2011.
Peter and Sharon rose to the top quickly. They began to win "Hanley" Awards (Home Video Studios' version of the Oscars) and were named Studio Owners of the Year in 2011. Peter enjoyed and excelled at video editing and production and loved all things tech. Sharon had a back for getting business and working with customers. President and Founder of Home Video Studio Robert Hanley says the following about the Galluzzos and their time in Home Video Studio, "They decided to go for that January day on Long Island. I remember meeting them the night before at the Show 'N Tell dinner. Peter was bit shy. Sharon was outgoing. I liked them immediately and that is important. People buy from people they like and it works both ways. Peter and Sharon liked me and I liked them and their customers liked them too! I do recall that they both had tons of questions at Show 'N Tell. They purchased on that same day. I think that's a powerful motivator. Once you engage and make that final decision you are no longer thinking about starting a video production and post-production business, you are doing it. You'll become unstoppable."

Peter and Sharon pulled Robert aside at the Getaway about four years after then had purchased. They had already made the transition from part-time to full-time. Now they had their eye on moving the business into a shop on Main Street. They did! They were doing $5000.00 to $10,000.00 weeks. Now they started exceeding  $10,000.00 per week on a regular basis. It was an exciting time for them.

A couple of years later they were presented with Studio Store of the Year. Peter and Sharon served on the Home Video Studio Advisory Council. Both of them started to train for HVS. They became leaders in Home Video Studio.

Sharon shared some secrets of their success a few years ago. "It’s no secret. Have the right mindset, set goals, choose what motivates us, execute the plan, review and evaluate, then do it all over again. Also, we have systems in place and we manage the system. Plus, we strive to be professional at every turn. We are organized and have a clean studio so customers have confidence in us and trust us with their most valuable possessions. Finally, we adopt a “givers gain” mentality – and we say we don’t have any competitors –only collaborators." Clearly they had the right attitude.

Peter and Sharon have won almost every award that is possible in Home Video Studio. Peter became an accomplished Producer/Director/Editor. At his tenth and final Home Video Studio Peter was honored by winning the coveted President's Award for "Best of the Best."
Sharon started a speaker and training business and still trains for Home Video Studio.

At Thanksgiving... Sharon sat down and wrote an email to Robert Hanley.

"During this "thankful" season, I wanted to take a moment to let you know how much we enjoy being part of Home Video Studio. I know that we don't call for advice as much as we used to, but we always feel supported. I can firmly state that our business would not be what it is today without the HVS support.
You and the whole HVS team are doing a fabulous job and we appreciate you so very much! Thank you for everything you do, big and small. And thanks, Robert, for sharing your business with us."

Peter and Sharon sold their Home Video Studio for six figures ten years after they started. That was their plan.
They retired and bought a house on the beach.
